Meaning of Time

It was out in the enchanted woods. The Tao was having a siesta after a long day passing through tall conifer trees and immovable granite.

“What is the time, I wonder,” a student said.

“It is the time for a siesta,” said the Tao.

“No. I mean, like, is it 2pm? Or may be it is 3pm? Or 6? I am so confused here in the wilderness,” the student persisted.

“It is the time for a siesta,” reaffirmed the Tao, “The evening time to walk by the lake will soon be here. Then the much sought after dinnertime, when we sit around the campfire. And then the time to lie on the granite bed and count the stars. Which of these times are you asking about?”

“Never mind,” said the student.
